I had the pleasure of photographing 4-day old, Elise. Her mom had responded to my model call in order to assist me with building my portfolio.
Elise was a dreamboat to photograph. Being that she was only four days old, she was so "moldable" and easy to pose. She stayed asleep the entire time - only fussed for various short times when I was moving her around in different poses, but immediately fell back asleep - and, those lips! Simply beautiful!

Since I have recently begun my newborn photography business, I thought I should formally introduce myself. Here it is in a nutshell: That's right. All that right there, is so me. Let's break down each one into a little more detail.
Chocolate - I don't even remember the first time I started eating, drinking, loving chocolate. I do remember I started drinking chocolate milk every day when I was probably in my tween years. I literally only stopped drinking it every day in 2014 when I went on a no-carb, no-sugar diet for about three months. When I met my goal weight (and then some), I re-introduced myself to chocolate milk, but I only drink it twice a week now. I also eat a piece of dark chocolate every day. (Because it is good for you.) Fashion - I have always loved dressing up and wearing high heels. Whenever there is an opportunity for me to dress up, I am there. I have loved the color red for longer than I can remember. 'Nuff said. Dance - OMG! Love it, love it, love it! I can remember when I was about 11 years old, I would dance in front of the mirror every opportunity I could, and, if I must say so myself, I am a pretty good dancer. I definitely have rhythm and love a good beat. When I'm in my car listening to my playlist of dance songs, you will see me literally, moving, bopping in the car. I don't care who's watching and probably laughing. I am enjoying myself and that's all that matters. (I am just waiting to see myself someday end up on YouTube from someone filming me.) My dream would be to appear on "Dancing with the Stars," if only I were a "star." I keep thinking they should have a different version of the show for us non-star people called something like, "Dancing with the Commoners." I think that would be great. Don't you? Beach - I grew up on the east coast about 15-20 minutes away from the beach. That was the favorite hangout for us teens. Didn't have the Internet, cell phones, iPods, etc. We had to entertain ourselves and the beach was the best place. Still love it. My husband and I go as often as our schedule allows. Definitely love watching the sunsets. They are the best over here on the west coast. Although, on the east coast, it was pretty cool to watch a full moon over the ocean. I love and enjoy all these things; however, God is first and foremost and my family is my greatest joy and will always have my heart. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I am, uh hum, a "young" grandmother and will always be "young at heart." That's it. That's who I am in a nutshell. Can't wait to meet you and create forever visual moments of your precious newborn! Has your baby ever poo’d, pee’d and/or spit up at the wrong time? Since I’ve only just begun my newborn photography business and have only shot two babies professionally so far, (two more scheduled this month) this hasn’t happened to me yet, but I’m sure it is bound to happen. It’s only natural. Babies poo, pee and spit up whenever they want. There’s no controlling it. That’s okay. We just have to be prepared for when it does. You may not want to display these types of images in your home (or maybe you do?) but they do make for some pretty funny photos, though. Here are some classics I found on the Internet.
Enjoy! |
