Don’t be afraid to do a little accessorizing that brings out your style and personality. Remember, just think of when and where your photo session is taking place, dress accordingly in colors that look and feel best for you and your family. You won’t go wrong. PLAN AHEAD FOR YOUR OUTDOOR FAMILY PHOTO CLOTHES. After you book your session, you can now start thinking about what everyone is going to wear. Look through your closets and your children’s closets. They may have already outgrown the clothes you were thinking of having them wear or they aren’t clean. Don’t wait until the day before or day of to think about what you and your family are going to wear. Check in tomorrow, same place, same time for my final Tip #4! 4 Top Tips for What to Wear to Your Outdoor Family Session, Sarasota Family PhotographerTip 2. WEAR CLOTHES THAT ARE CLASSIC AND COMFORTABLE. Stay away from reds, all black and busy patterns. No graphic tees, character shirts or neon colors. Keep in mind, short dresses or skirts can be hard to move around in during the session, as you may be walking around, sitting down, laying down, etc. Therefore, wearing a longer dress/skirt or pants will work the best. The most important thing is that the clothes will make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Wear something you feel beautiful in and coordinate around that. Wear “you.” Simple, yet classic comfortable clothes will give your images a timeless feel. Check in tomorrow, same place, same time for Tip #3!

4 Top Tips for What to Wear to Your Outdoor Family Session, Sarasota Family PhotographerFollow along for the next four days as I share my 4 Top Tips for What to Wear to Your Outdoor Family Session. Tip 1. CONSIDER HOW AND WHERE YOU PLAN TO USE YOUR PHOTOS. You may not have even thought about where you may display your photos (and not only on your computer.) If you specifically hired a photographer with the intention of either hanging your artwork or displaying your images in an album or folio box, you may want to think about the color scheme in your home. Ask yourself what colors should you wear that will work well with your décor. Think of the complimentary colors in your wardrobe that would look perfectly in the room or rooms you plan to display your images. Important: Think of coordinating your wardrobe colors and not everyone matching. Gone are the days of everyone wearing khaki pants and white shirts. Side tip: Visit clothing stores where they have outfits in color coordinating collections. Check in tomorrow, same place, same time for Tip #2! Ready to book your outdoor family session? They might not live local
Unfortunately, many of us may not have the privilege of having grandparents that live “a stone’s throw away.” I know I didn’t growing up. My maternal grandparents had already died by the time I was one and my paternal grandmother lived in Alabama when we lived in Florida. We would only get to see her once a year. When I was older and had a camera, I always made sure to take pictures of her and us with her. I cherish the one photograph I took when I had my daughter. It was a four-generation picture – the only one we got before she passed away. These are treasured memories you don’t want to miss, especially if they don’t live nearby. So, if they are going to be in town because you just had a baby or for any other reason, include them with your family session. Why? They might like to play We all know grandparents love to spoil their grandchildren and love to play with them as well. These are great moments to capture in photos – memories your children will cherish forever. Why? Great time to get them alone with grandchildren This is the perfect time to get just the grandparents with their new little grandchild and/or grandchildren. We’ll get wonderful shots of them playing, holding them – connecting with them. Why? Great time to include extended family Since the grandparents are in town, this is the best time to get everyone in the picture – a three, maybe four-generation - maybe even a five-generation photograph. What memories those would be to have and to show and pass down from generation to generation. Grandparents Day is not too far off coming up on September 12. What a perfect gift to give them! Are you ready to take these treasured memories with the grandparents? Click the button below. I would love to capture your story and create your legacy. I'm Pregnant! Top Five Things To Do When Planning for Your BabySarasota Newborn PhotographerCongratulations on your first pregnancy! You will probably start to hear a ton of advice from those who have gone before you - your mother, your sister, your friends. Everyone loves to celebrate the anticipation of a new baby! But, you still may be asking yourself, "I'm pregnant, now what?" Here are my top five things to do each trimester (after informing your parents and loved ones first, of course) when you are pregnant.
I Just Found Out I'm Pregnant! Now, what?

1. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
This should be a given, but it is especially important when you are pregnant. You will need more water than the average person when you are pregnant. Why? Because drinking more water is needed to form amniotic fluid, produce extra blood, build new tissue, carry nutrients, enhance digestion and flush out wastes and toxins. How much water should you drink every day? According to the Institute of Medicine, pregnant women need to drink ten 8-ounce glasses of water per day.

2. SCHEDULE YOUR FIRST OB/GYN DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT
According to The American Pregnancy Association, you should schedule your first appointment within eight weeks of your last menstrual period. Regular appointments throughout your pregnancy ensures the health of you and your baby. In addition, prenatal care includes education on your pregnancy and childbirth.

3. DECIDE AND PLAN WHERE YOU WANT TO DELIVER YOUR BABY
While many women still have their babies in hospitals, there are those that want a more natural birth and will arrange to have their baby at a birthing center or even at home. Wherever you choose, it's important to discuss with your doctor the pros and cons as well as risks with your place of birth choice and what's the best option for you.

4. REGISTER FOR BABY SHOWER GIFTS
Now, we're getting into the fun stuff of having a baby - choosing a theme for your baby's nursery and then choosing gifts that will match that theme as well as registering for all the practical things a newborn baby will need. You can look here for a list of the "must haves" for taking care of a newborn.

What Do I Do with My Family Photos Now?Sarasota Family PhotographerStumped for ideas on how to display your gorgeous family photos? You wouldn't be alone. If you only have digitals, they most likely are still sitting on your computer where you, your family and everyone else aren't able to enjoy them on a regular basis. Who wants to constantly scroll through thousands of pictures and then forget about them? You take photos on your phone because your family is important to you. You want to remember that special event, occasion, your children doing crazy things, etc. You want to remember that frozen moment in time. You like to see the changes in yourself as well as your loved ones over the years. Having all those candid photos are great, but now you want beautiful portraits taken by a professional photographer. But, what will you do with those gorgeous pieces of art now? I can solve that problem for you. As a full service professional photographer serving Sarasota and surrounding areas, I have software where I can create room mock-ups showing various options of how you could display your artwork. I can use the pre-designed room templates included in my software to show you exactly how they will look on your wall. Here are samples of a few ideas: If the pre-designed mock-ups won't work for you, I can come to your home to take a picture of the wall or walls you would like your artwork displayed or you could take a picture and send it to me. I can then create a customized sample of how your portraits could be displayed.
Seeing photos in an album, on a table or on a wall stimulates real, true emotions and brings back that special time in your life or remembering a special loved one who may have passed away. That's why prints matter and why I love offering my clients tangible products that will be heirlooms and are priceless. Portraits are a visual history where memories are created and will last a lifetime, from generation to generation. They show special occasions, milestones and growth that you will look at and remember. You'll laugh; you'll cry. You'll remember. Is there a wall you are thinking of to add family portraits?
