Expect to have fun.  The beauty of lifestyle is that it is your real life happening now.  No perfection needed.  Lifestyle is very relaxed and photographed in a more natural state in the comfort and security of your own home.  No posed setups, props or formal posing.  Your baby is in charge.  I just want them to be comfortable, happy and safe.  I don't have crazy expectations.  I will capture images with baby-led posing with and without mom, dad and siblings and just a little direction and guidance from me will capture the raw emotions of the moment.

To give you a little idea of what to expect on the day of the session, read below:  

Upon arrival, I will walk around your home and look for the best lit areas for family and sibling shots. These usually include the master bedroom, sofa and nursery. We may even use the kitchen! Please do not stress yourself out by cleaning your house getting ready for your session.  You just had a baby, after all.  Your job is to feed, comfort and love on your baby. If we are in the bedroom, just remove clutter from the nightstands so they will not be in the photographs.  Bedding should be simple and white, if at all possible, as white reflects the light wonderfully.



Your newborn is perfect just the way he or she is. I don't try and make babies sleep or place them in unnatural poses. I only suggest you have your baby in a simple white onesie that is form-fitting with no graphics or wording. This may mean you will need a preemie onesie, depending upon the size of your baby. I just don't want it too loose. I will probably take it off at some point to get nude or semi-nude (maybe just a diaper) photos as well.
